Don't Do This!

Here's why we build nest boxes. But never open one up when Bluebirds are using it. This one had been abandoned for a couple of months. The eggs had completely dried out.

This particular nestbox was set up on a fence post next to a large garden and was regularly used by Bluebirds. I don't know why it was abandoned.
