Assembly Tips
- Before nailing anything, put the box together to see how all the pieces fit.
- Notice the ventilation slots at the top of each side.
- The bottom is slightly recessed. The corners are cut off to allow drainage.
- Everything depends on correctly placing the sides in relation to the slot in the back.
- Don't paint anything.
- If small birds other than bluebirds might use the nestbox, consider heavily scoring the inside front. Some very small fledglings have difficulty making the climb up to the hole. If unsuccessful, they will starve to death. Baby bluebirds don't seem to have any trouble.
